Last weekend was the annual Chamber of Commerce open house on the square in Athens Alabama. Even though the weather was rough we weren’t disappointed – you could experience everything from ice skating to train rides. Shops were open on the square and ready to welcome Athens citizens with treats and lots of gifts ready to purchase for Christmas giving. We had special guests ready to have their picture taken with local children and yes Santa did arrive.
There was also a very special quilt celebration sponsored by the three local quilt guilds. This was the second celebration and they plan on making it an annual November affair. If you missed out put it on your calendar for next year you won’t be sorry.
Several of our members also opened their doors and provided refreshments. I would like to encourage you to take time and put the square on your list of places to shop for Christmas giving. Visit Gypsy Sister’s Interior for a wide selection the place to find something special for the person who has everything.
